List of changes and adding to the new version of PC-3000 for Windows

Seagate:

Additions:

• Added families 7200.8(Tonka), 7200.9(Tonka2, Tonka40).
• Realised mechanism of loader for the families BV, U Series 7, 7200.7 (Alpine, APLUS, Puma), 7200.8(Tonka), 7200.9(Tonka2, Tonka40).
• Supporting of analyzer and editor CSPT (CERT Sequence Parameters Table) for the families U4/U8/U10/U6/U Series X (plugin Hex of editor).
• Supporting of analyzer of module table for the families U4/U8/U10/U6/U Series X (plugin Hex of editor).
• Interface for DE for reading user data through terminal is added to the utility.

Overpatching:

• Corrected ROM operation for U Series X.
• Modified algorithm of defect hiding for U Series X (is used for U6 etc) - added parameter for forcing defect hiding process without checking HDD surface.
• Modified algorithm of working with FW version, because on Tonka40 and similar ones the version is extended for 2 symbols which are not shown on the label and certificate.

 

IBM/HGST:

Additions:

• For 3.5" HDD we have improved the operation with PSHT.
• Added families DARA, DJSA, HTS424, HTS721, DLAT, KLAT.

 

Samsung:

Additions:

• The utility has added support of models Rubicon, P80A.
• New BURN resources are placed to the server, that's why the methods of resource search in the base are updated.
• Extended possibilities to set initial formatting parameters.

 

Western Digital:

Additions:

• Fundamental changes of the utility for WD for мс Marvell. New supported HDDs: 3.5" HDD WD PATA (IDE) and SATA, families: Mammoth, Sabre 53, Sabre 58, Hawk, Starling, also supported HDDs 2.5" HDD WD Scorpio.
• Realised full work with these HDD in factory mode.
• Realised work in Kernel 2.5" HDD WD Scorpio. for these HDD.

 

Maxtor:

Additions:

• Added pattern for HEX-editor of disassembling and comparison of RCT.
• Added RCT boilerplate for HEX-editor for N40P & Calypso.
• Added possibility of backward loading of overlays in Maxtor utlity (otherwise the loader on sabre & grizzly is not loaded).
• Completed mode of defect hiding by SA writing. It is available as a switcher in the service area surface testing mode.
• The flag "write all copies" in the utility settings can be saved. Attention! The option to write all the copies works just only for a system head. If another head is chosen and the option is set, it is on the system head where the writing will be done.
• Added loading of SRV from the external source: database and file (it does not work on HDD with SRV 2 sectors meanwhile).
• Realised loading DISK module from file.
• Added option "calibrator". This function allows to start the test 38h from the script self test without staring self test. Not all positions of the flags result in its successful shutdown (usually it buzzes). This option is being developed now.

Overpatching:

• Corrected mistake of CPU data segments reading.

 

HITACHI (NATIVE):

Additions:

• Added visualisation of LBA->PCHS conversion.
• Review of P-LIST defects.
• Cleaning of P-LIST.
• Added track's defects into P-LIST.

 

Fujitsu 2.5" HDD:

Overpatching:

• Corrected mistake in the saving procedure of modified PL (P-List).
• Changed logics of work of menu item "addition to LBA defects": If selected file already exists, a request appears: to make a new clean defect list or open existed one in the "module table" wizard. To open it in browsing, double click it (if module was not read, it starts to be read).
